And so at last we come to it... Book II, Chapter 10, The Breaking of the Fellowship, aka the final chapter of The Fellowship of the Ring! *amazed*
I am going to do things a little differently for this chapter, as it is only 12 pages long and the number of readers will therefore be limited to 12.
There are several readers who have participated in every reading since the project began, and I am reserving spots for them so that they can preserve their perfect records. :)))
belleferret,
addie71,
ink_gypsy, and
dreamflower02, this means you! Thank you so much for your unfailing support of Reading LOTR Aloud!! (And please do leave a comment here as usual so I can reply with your assignments!)
That leaves 7 other spots open (not counting me), and as usual they will be first come, first served. You have until next Monday, March 12 to sign up. Please also indicate if you would be willing to serve as a pinch hitter if necessary. Sign ups are now closed. I'm so sorry that we couldn't have more readers for this chapter. Consistency in chapter length was not Tolkien's strong suit, alas!
After this reading, I'm going to poll the community about continuing the project and beginning The Two Towers. Do we want to continue? If so, are there any changes you can think of that would make it better?
