Here are the links for this month's readings for
The Two Towers, Book IV, Chapter 2, 'The Passage of the Marshes'.
A big thank you to all who participated for your patience to make our changes work, and to our two pinch-hitters ink-gypsy and shirebound!
Part 1 read by vaysh
Part 2 read by ink_gypsy
Part 3/1 and 3/2 read by lavendertook
Part 4 read by shirebound
Part 5 read by ink_gypsy
Part 6 read by tanis
Part 7 read by bslarner
Part 8 read by dreamflower02
Edit: We are using our Tindeck account to store most of the readings for the first time. The embedded player or links used in some of the entries do not have a link for downloading the readings as MP3 files. If you prefer downloading MP3 files, you can find them either on the Tindeck Profile page or on an alternativee location on box.com since the Tindeck links don't seem to work for Ipads etc.
Please note the readings on box.com are only stored temporarily, whereas those on Tindeck are permanent. If you need any of the files on a later date and can't access them, please contact

Date: 2014-07-30 01:30 pm (UTC)The links on vaysh's post go to some main page on tindeck, not to the specific file link needed.
All tindeck links appear to be inaccessible to ipads. That doesn't make sense to me so I have emailed tindeck asking how to listen to files as the downloads go nowhere. I'll let you know if I get an answer.

Date: 2014-07-30 01:47 pm (UTC)Does the embedded player also not work for you?
But thanks for pointing this out; I suppose nobody of us thought about adding additional links for those who download rather than listen to the player, since the readings are so short (generally, with podfic, people prefer to download anything longer than 10min, but listen directly when shorter; at least this is what I know from polls that have been taken in fandom.)
(ETA: Sorry for not seeing the problem with vaysh's link at first, I got tricked by my browser cache which led me to believe I had already fixed the link; I did, but forgot to save the entry. *facepalm* It's fixed now.)
I have edited the entry here with the link to our Tindeck account; you can find direct access to all readings there. There is a download link on each page as well.
This is interesting about Ipads; I have heard no complaints before, though. Would you share what you hear from Tindeck about your complaint with us?

Date: 2014-07-30 05:35 pm (UTC)Can you please tell me if the following works for you?
Go to one of the files on Tindeck, for example this one, and click on the "download track" link. Can you get the link and does it work for you?
It worked on my father's Ipad and on my PC.
If it does for you, I'm including a direct link on the entry above.

Date: 2014-07-30 11:21 pm (UTC)I get the download link and it seems to be trying to downlad but then what happens is that it tries to open in Audio Mem but there is no file. What ipad app did you use to open the file?
Thanks for following up.

Date: 2014-07-31 04:49 am (UTC)I will write to Tindeck myself and see what they can tell me. I confess it did not occur to me that there could be a problem so simple and stupid as to a service not being available for Apple users, nor MP3s not being possible as simple downloads.
