I miss Read LotR Aloud. :( Are there any plans to continue the podficcing/readings?

Definitely! I can't believe that it's been so long already. Dreamflower and I are just so horribly busy these days, and during the last few months we both stepped in in some fannish duties to cover for two other mods on hiatus, so we didn't even find time to talk about planning for RLA. We want to do a bit of an overhaul to re-record the parts of the previous readings which have been lost due to people leaving LJ, and we need to talk about technical things, as people have more and more often problems with either recording or listening to where the recordings are stored. There are other issues, too, which we wanted to talk about in the community, like the feedback which has dwindled to nearly nothing in most cases.
So far, nobody had inquired about RLA as well, which didn't exactly give us hope about the interest in it, so I'm really happy you asked! :) I'll try to post something about what's going on in the community soon.

I know all about other mod duties that prevent people from doing stuff. :) But I am relieved you have not given up on RLA. I cannot offer to be a full mod but if you need me to cover one round every once in a while, I certainly can do that. I love RLA, and it's a fannish project that I'd love to see continued until the entire LotR is there, read in fannish voices.

There never is much feedback for podfic, it's just a fact of life. :)

Yes, that's true. But even so it has changed a lot at RLA during the last two years; when I joined the comm it seemed to be the rule more than the exception that all readers also listened to the others, and left at least a quick "loved this" or so. Lately, though, it seems that most readings don't get any attention at all. Since we tried to get new voices on board I think this is an issue, as literally everybody who came for one chapter never showed up again, or only a second time. Of course, the infrequency of our readings might be another contributing fact, or anything else.
