LJ is having a problem with voice posts if you are not calling the US telephone number.

This is their news bulletin:

Voice Post calls using access numbers outside the United States may be disconnected after 60 seconds. If this happens, your Voice Post will still be posted with the default Voice Post security level (FAQ 183). This is not an issue with LiveJournal, but with a third party vendor. LiveJournal Staff are working closely with the vendor to resolve this issue in as timely a manner as possible.

I suggest either wait and see how it is over the next few days or call the US number. I have no idea however what they will charge you for the call.

I tried both the London and Manchester numbers several times and always got cut off after 53 seconds...

aliena_z reports they had this problem since March so please call the US number!

In March, I was repeatedly cut off at 56 seconds. Yes, March. So their def of "in as timely a manner as possible" differs somewhat from mine...

People, I wouldn't count on its being resolved anytime soon. So I reckon we should just use the US number... * grumbles *

Argh! Frustrating! I hope they can fix it. Meanwhile I will add this info to the master post (with the rules, etc.) that I plan to do tomorrow.

You can find more info in the userinfo. For this chapter, we signed up in Lbilover's LJ because we only created the comm afterwards but for the next chapter, there will be a post here for signing up. You post the assigned section in your LJ and then we will link to your LJ once everyone has done their post, so that we can link to them in the right order. :) If you have any other questions, please let us know!

I came across this problem when I did some "practising" the other day. I thought maybe it was my phone playing up, but obviously not! When I tried today, though (before I read this), I couldn't even get through to either of the UK numbers. *sigh* I'll try the US number tomorrow.

Btw, the posts to this community don't seem to be showing up on my flist, for some reason, even though I'm a member. Has anyone else had this problem?

*nods* I think the US number is the best bet.

I think you need to "friend" the comm, too, not just become a member. I notice that you are not listed as one of those who watches the comm. Try adding the comm again but via the friending button on the user page and see if the problem is solved!
